Precision in Silver

Since 2015, the Mexico City Grand Prix podium has handed out trophies made by TANE, a Mexican silver house with more than eight decades of craft.
TANE was born in 1942. Sergio and Natalia Leites, arrived from France, founded it as a leather-goods shop; the name comes from tannerie, French for tannery. For the details on their bags they worked with local goldsmiths, and that is how their relationship with silver began. In 1953 the house moved to Amberes Street in Colonia Juárez and turned toward jewelry and silver objects. Today, according to the house itself, every piece is handmade in its workshops in Mexico.
According to México GP, four trophies are made each year in .925 silver with 23-karat yellow-gold vermeil, on a natural-stone base and with tricolor enamel on the reverse. The first-place trophy measures about 15 × 10 × 60 centimeters; second and third, about 12 × 10 × 46 centimeters.
It has been lifted by Nico Rosberg (2015), Lewis Hamilton (2016 and 2019), Max Verstappen (2017, 2018 and 2021–2023), Carlos Sainz (2024) and Lando Norris (2025).
For the anniversary, TANE made an official collector’s replica: 24 numbered, handmade pieces that recreate the original 2015 design on an obsidian base.
